Started as contrabassist, later in years 1957 - 60 finished private school with prof. Galovec in Banska Bystrica where he studied trombone. In the same years, he was also a member of Dixieland of Banska Bystrica. In the years 1961-67 studied architecture at university in Bratislava. In the year 1962 cofounded Revival Jazz Band, later on he was long term member of Traditional Club Bratislava and after that a member of Revival & Traditional Jazz Band (until present time). He specializes in playing solo swing and mainstream trombone. In his 60 years of ongoing music career he performed in many events in more then 22 countries. He worked together with many domestic and foreign music groups and soloists, to mention few of them e.g. E. Wright, Lee Harper, S. Kosvanec, Max Greger, Albert Nicholas, Pavol Polansky and many others. He also co-starred in 17 LP and CD albums. In the year 1995 he became band leader in “Traditional & Revival Jazz Band” and founded mainstream formation “Vlado Vizar Jazz Quartet”. In the year 2013 he co-founded formation called “SOFT JAZZ SOCIETY” and “JAZZ FOR TWO”.  He is also dedicated to jazz publicity. He is expert sponsor and dramaturgist of Jazz Festival Banska Bystrica - Spania Dolina. 


For organizing technical, legal and administrative side of the festival is responsible organization called JAZZAR located in Banska Bystrica in cooperation with Pension Klopacka Spania Dolina.
